British pupils are to be given etiquette lessons in school.
Children from the ages of three to 18 will be taught good manners - including holding doors open for females and how to use cutlery in restaurants - at Llandovery College in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, after teaching staff grew tired at the demise of good etiquette.
Llandovery College warden Ian Hunt said: "As thank-you letters grow ever rarer, top restaurants are no longer defined by their exclusivity and even the practice of holding a door open is anything but universal, Llandovery College wants to drive home the message that manners maketh man or woman.
"Teachers at the college will be giving lessons on good manners, which will equip our pupils for the outside world."
