A region in Switzerland is using a guardian angel in a bid to urge motorists to slow down.
Police in the state of Fribourg have employed a winged man dressed in white to stand at the roadside to remind drivers to go slow and flaps his wings if they go too fast.
Police spokesman Benoit Dumas said: "The idea is to provide a sort of concrete protection, to have a real angel telling drivers to be responsible."
Drivers who spot the angel are encouraged to e-mail the police and they will then be entered into a lottery for a driving lesson.
The scheme has proved such a success it may be extended.
